Back in the late 60's/70's I figured out that a commonality of ammo was prudent. I didn't have any access to 357's/38's. But I did with 45 acp's. So my SHTF kit was as many grenades I could carry, my 45 1911 sidearm and my brand new M3 grease gun, chambered in 45 acp. That was then, this is now, a Rossi chambered in 357 / 20" barrel, and a S&W 686+ will do the trick.
